Who we are
This website is operated by Dave Coleman, a sole trader providing web design and digital services to businesses in Ireland. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email me directly: contactus@daveacoleman.com.
What data we collect
Contact form
When you fill in the contact form, we receive:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (optional)
- Your business name (optional)
- Your message
We also collect a technical timestamp and your approximate location (country/region) via Cloudflare's infrastructure — used only for security and spam filtering, not for marketing.
Analytics cookies (consent required)
If you accept cookies when prompted, this site loads two analytics tools:
- Google Analytics 4 — tracks page views, session data and general usage patterns to help understand which content is useful.
- StatCounter — provides additional visit-level analytics including entry and exit pages, referrer sources and approximate geographic region.
We also run our own first-party analytics (sending data to admin.daveacoleman.com) that records page views, scroll depth, CTA clicks and Core Web Vitals. This data is used solely to improve the site and is not shared with any third party.
All three tools are blocked until you accept cookies. If you decline, none of them
load and no tracking data is collected. Your choice is stored in your browser's
local storage under the key _c. To withdraw consent at any time,
clear your browser's local storage for this site (browser settings → site data).
We do not use advertising pixels, retargeting cookies or any form of cross-site profiling. We do not sell data to anyone.
How we use your data
We use contact form submissions for one purpose only: to respond to your enquiry. Your details will never be:
- Added to a mailing list without your explicit consent
- Passed to third parties for marketing
- Used for any purpose other than responding to what you asked
Who we share it with
Your contact form data passes through two services to reach us:
- Cloudflare — our hosting provider. Cloudflare processes requests on its global network. See their privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
- Resend — the email delivery service we use to forward your message to us. See their privacy policy at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
If you accept analytics cookies, visit data is also processed by:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — analytics only, no advertising. See policies.google.com/privacy.
- StatCounter — visit-level analytics. See statcounter.com/about/legal.
No service we use sells your data. Contact form data is not shared with Google or StatCounter.
How long we keep it
We keep email correspondence (including contact form enquiries) for up to 2 years, in case it's needed to reference a previous conversation. If you'd like your data deleted sooner, just ask.
Your rights (GDPR)
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate data
- Deletion — ask us to delete your data ("the right to be forgotten")
- Portability — receive your data in a common format
- Objection — object to how we process your data
To exercise any of these rights, email contactus@daveacoleman.com. We'll respond within 30 days. No forms, no fuss.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission (Ireland): dataprotection.ie. We'd obviously prefer you came to us first.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how we handle data in a meaningful way, we'll update this page. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised.
